Daytime/Nighttime Conversion of the OM Solar System

Just as our clothing changes depending on whether it's winter or summer or daytime or nighttime, the OM Solar system itself adjusts to different 24-hour and seasonal operational modes. It converts automatically from daytime to nighttime operation, and from summer mode to winter mode and vice-versa.

Flash Movie
During the day in winter, the damper is opened, and the hot air heated by the sun flows through the ridge duct, air-handling unit, and interior ducts, to finally enter the interior space.

Heat collection stops after sunset. As the building cools down, heat stored in the subfloor and walls during the day is released, raising the interior temperatures.
